Power to the Blogger

So it begins again…

I’ve been a blogger for many years, just looking at my profile reveals that I’ve had this Blogger account since December 2002. I’ve never really used this account though in favour of using a version of WordPress which I host on my own domain. But recently I’ve not been posting.

The major problem with having a blog is that its so easy, anyone can have one. Either one that they host themselves, or using one of the many hosted services. And what does anyone find to say, generally not much. Most blogs are rubbish, the problem I’ve had recently is that not only have I had nothing to say, I’ve also been contemplating changing from WordPress to Expression Engine. This sounds simple enough, but what actually happens is that I start spending all my time trying to come up with some kind of theme for my new look blog.

So I’ve made a decision, I’m going back to basics. I’m not going to worry about what it looks like, because it doesn’t matter. The simplest way to view information is though RSS feeds, so why do I care what it looks like. The time has come to forget about it and to try and worry about content, because thats what people come to read. A nice site with no content is on no use to anyone, but people will come back for good readable content.

So let the experiment begin.

I like the new look of this one, clean and fresh… and yes i read a lot through RSS but hey, I still go to the site to ‘read more’ of the article.

I been on blogger since November 2004. I cant even remember making this my homepage either: http://dinkdory.blogspot.com/

I don’t know whether I like it or not, just one of the best ones available from the selection that my host installs on its default installations. The thing is I don’t care. I very rarely visit my own blog, it makes a change to not have a black background though!

clean theme’s good, nice n readable (unlike mine at the min)
RSS is good for knowing there’s an update but you cant leave a comment from it so a well made themes still good, but like you said the contents the most important. - Note to self get content and post more too :)

Yes you are right, your theme is quite shocking!

I’m thinking that at some point we should have a post competition where the readers get to select the subject.

hey the themes not that bad, just when I changed the colour from green to red I might have lost some brightness on some of it

I’ll let you do a post competition with someone else, I just plan on randomly posting occasionally when I have something to say
