Give me a break.

So today we were supposed to be going to Newcastle for another gig, we decided however that we would give it a miss and take a little break from the gig challenge. I’ve not really had much spare time since getting back from London last Sunday and am beginning to feel like I’m burning the candle at both ends.

Therefore I was going to make the most of today by doing nothing. I seem to have missed out on the whole Prison Break phenomenon since I was snowboarding in Andorra when it started, perhaps I should have made more of an effort to catch up, but didn’t and it just seemed to pass me by. Anyway after hearing how great it is I decided that I needed to watch it, so today I’ve just watched 14 episodes and it was great. I now need to go to bed since I’m quite tired. There was just one problem, I seem to be missing the final episode, so instead of going to bed content in the knowledge that all is well, I’m kind of left hanging wanting to know what’s going on.

Oh well. I wonder what tomorrow might bring (although technically tomorrow will be Monday, so really just wonder what today will bring).

Stats issues

A very strange problem has occurred here at www.andybellonline.com, for all of my sites I use the open source stats package bbclone as a quick and easy means of keeping track of visitors to my sites. For some reason on Sunday 16 July the stats for all 4 sites I was monitoring have stopped. I’ve spent this afternoon trying to work out why but have sadly failed, I tried installing a new version of the stats package (which worked fine) and then re-importing the old visitor data which once again broke it. In the end I’ve just given up and have reset all my visitor data back to zero. So far this seems to have resolved the problem

Warning

Yesterday was really quite unbearable at work, the office wasn’t too bad, but as soon as I had to go outside then it became uncomfortable. This morning I heard that it was going to be the hottest day of the year which meant there was only one thing to do. Out came my shorts. Well so far so good, theres been a nice breeze rushing round my legs, but a word or warning, last year I only wore shorts for work once and it rained.

Blimey

When you’ve spent all week running on empty and are in desperate need of some sleep, what’s the best way to prepare for a big weekend, that’s right its to go out on Friday night watching bands. Its got to be said that come Saturday morning I wasn’t feeling as great as I could have. Things could have gone so terribly wrong, for some reason I was certain that my train to London left at 9.20, it was at 9am that I actually realised that it left at 9.05, it’s a good job I live near the station since I managed to run there in 4 mins, luckily the train was late.

Squats

So I’ve just been on a manual handling course, which while not very interesting did remind me of one thing, I have faulty legs. We had to give a demo of lifting something while bending our knees and keeping our back straight. The problem is that when squatting down your supposed to keep your heels on the floor, I can’t do this, but neither could all but one of our group.

T In The Park

I’ve just been to T in the Park in Balado, Scotland and it was bloody brilliant. I love going to music festivals, but wouldn’t say that I’m any expert, since I’ve only been to four and they were all T in the Parks, but the times I’ve been, they’ve been excellent and this one was no exception.

I’m not really very good at writing review about these kinds of things, technically I should be, because when I’m not actually been near a computer I’ve been able to think of all kinds of things that I wanted to say. But now I’m here nothing. I guess that’s why I work in IT and am not a writer.

So anyway I shall begin, well actually that’s a lie because it turns out that I’m slightly lagging behind with my review since Paul and Phil have already written their’s. So here’s what I propose, why don’t you get yourself along to their sites and give them a little read, go on, I’ll wait for you.

Updates coming soon

It strikes me that there haven’t been many meaningful blog entries recently, and there are many reasons for that. Sometimes I just can’t be inspired to write anything, sometimes I’m too busy and sometimes I just can’t be bothered. Today is a day when I can’t be bothered, I went to Leeds yesterday to see the excellent Pigeon Detectives at the Cockpit, it was one of the craziest gigs ever and now I’m just drained. But hopefully between now and Friday I will try and get some of my reviews written. See I’ve said it now so I have to do it, although the chances are that something will come up and I’ll not get them done.
