Just thought I’d drop in and say hello since it’s a while since I’ve posted due to being really rather busy. What with going to the gym, revising, attending very high powered bowls meetings, implementing a new CMS system on the MySpace Gig Challenge website, going to gigs and I suppose doing a little bit of work when I can find the time. I even tuned my guitar last night, although couldn’t bring myself to play it, basically because I can’t although it does look nice. Even with my recent lack of posting its got to be said that I’ve still managed to post more than Paul who after making big boasts at the beginning of the month has been strangely lacking recently.
So Simon got his new car today, a rather lovely Renault Clio (I have to say that since I’ve got one too) so hopefully my £50 from Reg Vardy should soon be arriving, which will be good since I will shortly have to be handing hundreds of pounds over to them for my 36,000 mile service. To celebrate being the owner of a lovely new car he has managed to talk himself into taking Phil and I to Huddersfield in the quest for bands and beers.
Anyway its Friday, so here is a pointless links – http://www.ayliff.freeserve.co.uk/sarah/jaffacake.html
Anyway, I’d best go now, stuff to do.

Busy, Busy, Busy

So I’ve been quite busy recently, I’ve even managed to find things to keep me busy at work. Yes I know that’s very unusual isn’t it.
As one of my new years resolutions I decided that it about time that I actually got round to getting some certification so I’ve booked the Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional exam. I always work better under pressure, even when I was a uni I struggled to do good quality revision unless it was a day before the exam and Jamie had dragged me to the library for a final 12 hours of power revision. So now with a date booked I have something to aim for (and something to do during that rather boring Easter holidays), I’m not actually going to tell you when the exam is, but when I’ve passed I’ll let you know.

Its got to be said that Natalie Portman was looking very fine, both with an without hair.

V for going to the cinema
Filed Under Diary, Running | 6 Comments
Going to the cinema tonight to see V for Vendetta the highly anticipated new film from the Wachowski Brothers. Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore, it imagines a British empire under totalitarian rule. One man, dressed as English folk hero Guy Fawkes, attempts to bring down the government.
I’ve read quite a few reviews and it sounds good, although the critics seem to have a mixed opinion of it. Here because I’m lazy and haven’t seen it yet are the opinions of other people. I’m sure tomorrow Stephen will write a nice review for us all to read:

Dancing

As Phil Collins once said “I can’t dance, I can’t talk. Only thing about me is the way I walk”. Well this man can’t dance either, although he’s giving it a very good try!

Fun with Dick and Jane
Filed Under Diary, Running | 2 Comments
Was bored this afternoon so decided to watch ‘Fun with Dick and Jane‘. It was quite good, although I thought that it might have been funnier, as usual all the best parts had been shown in the trailer. I’m not really a big fan of Jim Carrey, but he seemed less irritating than usual.
Basically it’s the story of Dick who gets promoted at work just in time for the company to go belly up. He struggles to find work and the house is about to be repossessed, in the end he and Jane turn to crime to get by. As I say its mildly amusing and surprisingly short, so if you don’t like it its not so bad. Anyway it looks like its been raining so didn’t miss too much.
Quote of the film:
Dick: We followed the rules and we got screwed. We were good people, honest people, and we got screwed.
Jane: What you gonna do now, you gonna rob a bank or something?
Dick: We got screwed over and over again honey, and then I stole the lawn back, and now we have a lawn.
